Community Involvement: I believe that we ALL have the responsibility to make the world a better place. Serving the Destin community along with incredible business leaders has been one of the best decisions of my life. We are making our corner of the world a little bit brighter… and I love it! Serving with the Destin Kiwanis Club has given me the opportunity to assist those in need locally and globally. It has also sharpened my business and leadership skills beyond expectations.
Destin Kiwanis Club – Member since 2005, past Vice President 2007- 2008.
The Destin Kiwanis Club is extremely involved in the community. You will find members participating in highway trash pickup, collecting school supplies for local students in need and hosting an annual golf tournament to raise money to assist local charities. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.

Give BIG 2009- Creator of a community project that fed 50 thousand people locally and globally. This effort combined local expertise to create a full day music festival to raise awareness and money for those who struggle with basic human needs. 12 committed volunteers, including then Destin’s Mayor Barker, organized over 50 businesses to create this local music festival with headliner The Wailers, the legendary Bob Marley Band. Magnolia Manor Adult Care- Volunteer Board Member since 2008. This facility assists those who are caring for elderly family members at home. Sara O’Neil and Valerie Anthony are two of the area’s finest caregivers and they have combined their talents to open Okaloosa County’s first Adult Day Care Facility located in Ft. Walton Beach. Magnolia Manor gives caregiver’s a well deserved break, as well as offers our older citizens an opportunity to socialize in a comfortable club- like setting getting the personal attention they need and deserve.

Political Campaigns- Research your candidates! With a growing concern in American politics, we must begin to research political candidates and elect responsible leadership. Restoring faith in America begins in our own communities and it is imperative to elect community leaders that represent the people, not special interest groups. Spending many hours working on political campaigns has offered much insight to the inner workings of the political world. Encourage your friends and family to research every candidate in every election.

BUILD (BUILDing You in Leadership Development) is a Council within the Walton County Chamber of Commerce Foundation designed to serve as the primary source for high-quality leadership mentors for the community. The council is a catalyst dedicated to assisting those desiring to advance their personal and professional growth. A member of this program for over 3 years, Jessica has learned a great deal from Mentor Ronnie McBrayer.
